Christmas is almost here...

Wow. I have slipped up on my blogging. Christmas break is almost here. I am still teaching at Newport. I am teaching 8th grade Writing. I have also started my Masters at Arkansas State University and have completed 9 credit hours. Joey graduated with his Bachelor's degree on Saturday. Hopefully, a job is on his future.
God bless.

Summer Break

Summer Break is flying by too fast. I taught summer school for the month of June. I spent 6 days of July in professional development. School starts back in less than a month, and I can't believe it. I am also starting Grad School in August. I want to get my Masters in Educational Leadership. I think I want to be a principal.

Joey should graduate with his Bachelors in December. He plans on going through the Nom-Traditional Licensure Program to teach high school Biology. He passed the Praxis 1, and I am super proud.

School is out...

School is out for summer. This year was interesting. I taught 5 different classes, so I never settled into a routine. I am off for a couple days before summer school starts. It looks like I will be teaching 7th grade Literacy and helping with Math. I actually like teaching summer school; because, there is less pressure on me.

It looks like I will still be working in the hay fields this summer, but it looks like it won't be as much. We lost the lease on one of the places, but it appears that God will provide as always. Dad is working on a deal that will allow us to bale some good hay.

I haven't had the best of luck with my cows this spring. I had 3 cows that should have calved in April that still haven't. The one calf that has been born, died last week. We're not sure what happened exactly, but it sure put a kink in my plans for this group of cows. Things will work out, though.

Until next time, God bless.

Wow!

I finally sent my application in for graduate school. If everything gets in order, I will begin my Masters for Educational Leadership at ASU-Jonesboro. I finally made the decision this week and got most of my paperwork in order. I always had it in the back of my mind that I would go, but I was a little afraid of making that step, but there is no turning back now. It's something that I feel like I need to do.

Well...

A friend just told me I don't blog much, so I'm going to try to get a little more regular at this.

Spring Break in Washington D.C. was pretty awesome. I saw so many things that I had only dreamed of seeing.

On our first day, we toured Mt. Vernon Estate. This was the home of President George Washington. Being an agri nerd, I was amazed at the advancements in agriculture that were made by Washington. He was a pioneer in the idea of crop rotation and the harvesting of grains.

Once we got to D.C., we put our walking shoes on and got ready to move. We saw the Martin Luther King, Jr., F.D.R., Lincoln, and Jefferson Memorials. We toured the Smithsonian Museums and Arlington Cemetery. We also visited the White House, Capital Building, Library of Congress and Archives Building. The coolest part had to be seeing the President's motorcade on the way to see our representative, Rick Crawford.

On Wednesday, before leaving D.C., a group of us headed to Georgetown Cupcakes. We took a subway and walked 10 blocks, but it was worth it. We saw a really interesting part of town that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I am so glad I didn't back out if going on this trip. It was a great experience that I will treasure forever.

Vacation

Spring Break has never meant as much to be as it does this year. I am taking a trip to Washington D.C. with a group from school. It has always been a dream of mine to go there, and it is finally coming true. We are leaving this morning, and we will be gone for 6 days. I am so excited to finally get to see the sights of a place not in the South.

It's funny that I am going somewhere this year; because, Joey is going to the beach. Mom and Dad are getting a week to themselves. I know they will enjoy it.

Until next time.

I am back (again)

Wow. I just figured out that there is an app for blogger, which I use for this blog. I might finally get a little regular with this blogging.
