Well...

A friend just told me I don't blog much, so I'm going to try to get a little more regular at this.

Spring Break in Washington D.C. was pretty awesome. I saw so many things that I had only dreamed of seeing.

On our first day, we toured Mt. Vernon Estate. This was the home of President George Washington. Being an agri nerd, I was amazed at the advancements in agriculture that were made by Washington. He was a pioneer in the idea of crop rotation and the harvesting of grains.

Once we got to D.C., we put our walking shoes on and got ready to move. We saw the Martin Luther King, Jr., F.D.R., Lincoln, and Jefferson Memorials. We toured the Smithsonian Museums and Arlington Cemetery. We also visited the White House, Capital Building, Library of Congress and Archives Building. The coolest part had to be seeing the President's motorcade on the way to see our representative, Rick Crawford.

On Wednesday, before leaving D.C., a group of us headed to Georgetown Cupcakes. We took a subway and walked 10 blocks, but it was worth it. We saw a really interesting part of town that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I am so glad I didn't back out if going on this trip. It was a great experience that I will treasure forever.

Vacation

Spring Break has never meant as much to be as it does this year. I am taking a trip to Washington D.C. with a group from school. It has always been a dream of mine to go there, and it is finally coming true. We are leaving this morning, and we will be gone for 6 days. I am so excited to finally get to see the sights of a place not in the South.

It's funny that I am going somewhere this year; because, Joey is going to the beach. Mom and Dad are getting a week to themselves. I know they will enjoy it.

Until next time.
