God is so good

It is so amazing to watch God at work.

I have always felt like I was at such a loss when it came to my relationship with God. I was in one of those weird positions where I knew that I loved God, but I didn't have a real relationship with Him.

On Sunday, March 22, 2015, we hosted a lock-in at our church. We had approximately 25 kids show up, which was great. We usually eat, play games and try to wear the kids out enough to get them to go to sleep. On that night, our youth pastor, Bro. John, asked me and the other sponsors if we would care to share our testimonies. I can't lie; at first, I said, "No, thanks." I have a prepared testimony about how thankful I am for God's love and mercy..., but God quickened my heart and said that now was the time. I had never given my true testimony. I had never admitted to anyone the troubles I dealt with in my Christian walk. On that night, God told me it was time to give my real testimony. I told those kids about depression and addiction to immoral things and fear. I was scared to death, but God always has a plan. After that session was over, one of the kids came to me and thanked me. He, himself, had struggled with addition to immoral things and needed confirmation that God had his back.

God loves each and every one of us. He speaks to our hearts, but we have to be open to receive.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Summer's here

School is out, but its not out for summer, at least not for me. Friday was the last day of the regular term. My 7th graduate class started today, and I am teaching summer school for the Junior High again.

We have been in the hay field since Saturday. It's not my favorite thing to do, but I am thankful we have hay to cut. My Shetland Pony mare had a colt about 2 weeks ago. She had a solid, buckskin filly that we've named Munschkin. She is already a spunky little thing.

Spring Break

This year is flying by, and it's already halfway through spring break. I am almost finished with my fifth graduate class. I have written my final paper; I just have to get it critiqued before I turn it in.

I am continuing to stay busy with the horses and cows. I have 4 cows, 4 calves and a bull. I also have 5 horses.

I am in the process of buying my grandparent's place. They will continue to live in their house, but I have begun the prices of clearing out fence lines. My hope is to have brand new fences around the entire place by Fall. It is really cool to put effort into something that will be mine.

God bless.

The year is going

Well, I am dieting again. I quit drinking sodas with the new year, and I have made it 3 weeks so far. I have also started going to Zumba to work out. I really enjoy dancing, so I like it. I am also trying to use my Power 90 videos. They are definitely intense. My goal is to get down to 200 pounds. It will not be easy, but I will not give up. God bless.

Happy New Year!

It's 2013! I had the best time last night with my friends and family. We had a scavenger hunt and played games. It was great to spend time with people I love without worrying about anyone drinking. I pray that 2013 is a blessed year!
God bless.

Christmas is almost here...

Wow. I have slipped up on my blogging. Christmas break is almost here. I am still teaching at Newport. I am teaching 8th grade Writing. I have also started my Masters at Arkansas State University and have completed 9 credit hours. Joey graduated with his Bachelor's degree on Saturday. Hopefully, a job is on his future.
God bless.

Summer Break

Summer Break is flying by too fast. I taught summer school for the month of June. I spent 6 days of July in professional development. School starts back in less than a month, and I can't believe it. I am also starting Grad School in August. I want to get my Masters in Educational Leadership. I think I want to be a principal.

Joey should graduate with his Bachelors in December. He plans on going through the Nom-Traditional Licensure Program to teach high school Biology. He passed the Praxis 1, and I am super proud.
