Day 18

WOW!!!

It is sleeting right outside my window.

I had to go to school this morning to take a final and turn in a final. I hadto take one for Advanced Comp and it went pretty good. I had to turn in a paper final for Education and Culture.

I have to go take a final for European History tomorrow. I am ready to get it over with. I need to write two papers. One is for American Lit and one is for Brit Lit.

The roads are getting crazy out my way.

The little brother is headed home from work so I will be nervous until he gets home.

Be safe and Be courteous.

God Bless.

Day 17

I am almost done with my first semester at Lyon.

All I have left is Finals. I wrote one of my finals on Friday night. I only have four more.

I had to skip church today because I have to work this afternoon. I am not thrilled.

I have really enjoyed my semester at Lyon. I contemplated transferring to ASU-Jonesboro, but I have made it this far and I only have three semesters left.

I was at Cave City this semester doing Observations. I will be there next semester for Practicum. I student teach there next year in 7th and 8th Grade for English and Social Studies. I am excited, but nervous.

I wish there was more to say, but I am so boring that this is all the excitement I have right now.

Day 16

Hey.

Guess what. I am not doing homework.

I should be doing homework, but I don't want to.

I have a research project and presentation due tomorrow. It is over Discipline in Elementary Schools.

On Monday, I have to turn in a paper on the British impact on Africa.

By Friday, I have to turn in two papers for History and a paper for English. I am not done with any of them, of course.

Yikes.

I am so ready for school to be over with. December 17th is my last day of Finals. Thank goodness. This semester had dragged on forever.

Day 15

Maybe I should give these true titles rather than "Day X."

School is ending for this semester very soon.

I have class Friday and Monday and then it is time for Thanksgiving Break. No complaints are coming from me.

I still have to write my 2 research papers and 2 book reports, but I am not dreading them as much. I plan to get a lot done during Thanksgiving since I will be at home all day on Tuesday and Wednesday with time to do things.

I bought two heifers this past week. One is a roan, 1/2 Shorthorn, 1/4 Holstein, 1/4 Gelbvieh. The other is a red, white face. I plan on buying two more this year and buying a Red Angus bull closer to Fall.

Day 14

Hey.

It has been so crazy that I haven't had time to write. I have met myself coming and going this past couple weeks.

I really need to be doing homework, but I am taking the night off.

I have an American Lit test on Monday. I still need to write an essay for it and learn all of my authors and facts.

On Tuesday, I have a paper due at 8:00a.m. for Education on The Giver. By 10:00, I have to turn in an Issue Paper. I have no idea what my issue is, yet. I wrote my last one on insurance agencies paying for Lap-Band surgery. I have nothing in mind for this one.

I am watching "Wife Swap." I think it is the stupidest show I have ever seen. These people are ridiculous. Who would put their family through that? I can't imagine my mother leaving us with a stranger for two weeks.

I hope everyone has had a great couple of weeks.

Until next time,

Day 13

I feel really bad that I have waited so long to write again.

It has been a crazy couple weeks and I have a feeling it will stay that way until this semester is over.

I could use a break from homework but even when I don't have class, I still have homework to be working on. I have notecards due tomorrow for my research paper. I am stressed about keeping my grades up. I have so many things that I want to do at home and I don't have time to do any of them. It is driving me crazy.

I am at work right now. I am thankful to have two jobs, but even they stress me out.

I am so ready to graduate from college so I can be a teacher and start making a difference. It is only 3 1/2 semesters until then. I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

Have a great week.

Day 12

Hello.

I am doing homework. Who would have thought?

I am currently working on Advanced Composition grammar worksheets. I need to be working on my issue memoir that is due on Tuesday.

Why is there never enough time to get things done?

I had planned on riding a horse this afternoon so I can start getting ready for next (and final) ranch sorting. I have been announcing them but I really want to ride in at least the last one.

We had a really good church service this morning. Bro. Ashley did such a good job delivering God's message. It was on Jesus' interviews with the handicapped, hate and hung. It was great.

I must get back to work on homework so I can finish cooking lunch and get ready for church when the time comes.

Have a great week.

Day 11

Hey.

I am terrible. I am just now finding time to write again.

I only have two classes tomorrow so I am not in a huge rush to get to bed. Dr. Tebbetts will be in meetings tomorrow so that eliminated two classes for tomorrow. I hate to say it but I am not complaining. It will be nice.

I went back to Cave City to observe today. I feel like I got a lot accomplished. I really like my mentor teacher. I wish she was at Batesville so I could have her for Practicum and Internship.

I have several books that I need to read in the next week so I can write a couple book reports that are needing to be completed.

Two seem interesting but two don't really grab my interest.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I know I will.

Day 10

Hey.

I am officially done with midterms.

Thank goodness.

They went decently. I am only worried about European History. It was difficult for me. There were too many facts to remember.

I am so ready for Thanksgiving break. It is only a little over a month away.

I don't have class tomorrow. I am so thankful.

I am hopefully going to be able to get some things done. I have a horse I need to ride. I have had several people call me about her. I need to get her and the goats sold for next semester extras.

I hope everyone has a great week.

Day 9

Hey, everyone.

Hope you all are having a great weekend.

I worked most of the day yesterday. I really enjoyed being back in the classroom. I had missed the kids.

I had to work today at the clothing store. It was a long day. My knee and hip are really bothering me today. My knee feels swollen.

I worked one of my horses today. She left me pretty worn out. She was not sure how to act in the round pen. I am hoping to have her traded off pretty soon to get something that I can work with.

I only have one more day of break left. I am worried about my History midterm. There is so much to remember.

I am going to Karla's house tonight. Me and John and her are going to hang out and watch movies and eat pizza. I am glad because we haven't been together in a while.

Have a great weekend.

Later.

Day 8

Hey, everyone.

Today is my first day of Fall Break. Thank goodness.

I went to the doctor this morning. He said I was still kicking. That's nice to know.

I am subbing tomorrow. I am excited because I have so busy with school that I haven't hardly had time to go see the kids this semester.

I have two Midterms on Monday, Advanced Comp and European History. I have one on Tuesday, Education and Culture. I am ready for next week to be over with and get back to a normal schedule. Ha ha ha, like there is such a thing.

I am going to have to guarantee myself something, though. Tomorrow when I get off work, I am going home and riding my horse. I will actually have time so I am going to do it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. No telling when I will talk again, since I am trying to "relax."

Day 7

This is a chestnut Quarter Horse filly that I just weaned. She is out of my bay roan Quarter Horse stallion and a palomino Quarter Horse mare. She seems to be very athletic right now, so I am excited about watching her grow up.

School is overwhelming right now. I am so ready for Thursday when I get to sleep in and don't have to hurry to school. Fall break is a great idea. all schools should try this.

Have a great week.

Later.

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Day 6

Good Morning.

I had to work and baby-sit last night so I am a day behind.

I got my Brit Lit paper back on Friday. I made a 70 for content but I got a 60 because he said it was too "wordy" so I have to do some alterations and turn it back in to get my 70.

I took my American Lit midterm Friday. I thought I did pretty good on my paper but I had some problems on the Identification part of the test. I froze up and forgot a couple authors and facts. I can just hope that I did ok on the ones I did answer.

I only have three days of class this week. I don't think I have any midterms this week. I think they are all the next week, hopefully.

I am working on fence this afternoon. I need to let my fillies out of their lots so me and dad are working on fence when we get home from church.

Hope you have a great and blessed Sunday.

Later.

Day 5

It's that time of the week again. Time to blog.

I am at work and it is pretty slow so I am going to go ahead and do this.

Tomorrow I take my first midterm at Lyon College for American Lit 2. I have to turn in a 1200 word analytical paper over The Age of Innocence. I also have to take a written test over identification. Throughout the last couple weeks we have taken lots of notes over a variety of things, all relating to American Literature. We now have to have all of that memorized. I am worried. I have a good start on my paper but I am worried about being able to call back on the information that I hope to have stored in my brain.

I am excited about tomorrow night though. I am going back to the Ranch Sorting at the Arkansas Sheriffs Youth Ranch. I went two weeks ago and announced part of the show and they asked me to come back this time and announce the entire show. Uncle David is supposed to have a horse there for me to ride around before the sorting gets started because I will be up there for several hours and that does get boring.

Next Thursday and Friday I have Fall Break. Two entire days of zero classes. It will be so nice to sleep in. I haven't done that since I started school in August. I only have to work until 7:00. Then I get to go home and finish all my homework that I don't get done with here.

Have a great weekend.

Later.

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Day 4

I am going to give you one guess as to what I am doing. That's right, I am doing homework.

Since starting at Lyon College in August, I think this is all my life has come to mean. I have a paper of some sort due every day this week. There are actually two due on Thursday. I just have to keep reminding myself that the disciplined lifestyle I have entered into will make me a better teacher when I graduate.

One of the papers due Thursday is entitled "137th Psalm" and focuses on who we are and where we come from. It ought to prove interesting to learn where my different sides came from and what lead to me being born and raised in Charlotte, Arkansas.

I am, of course, writing an analysis over a story I have read. I have to turn one in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The story we are supposed to have finished by tomorrow is Age of Innocence, which I am not completely finished with.

Finishing it with enough knowledge to write a one page analysis may prove interesting. But, as I hope to prove, life in Charlotte can be interesting.

Have a great Tuesday and Wednesday.

Later.

Day 3

Hey everyone.

I am doing homework, but I need a break.

I had the most wonderful experience this morning. I attended New Testament Holiness Church in Batesville this morning. I am enrolled in Education and Culture and our assignment was to go somewhere we would be the "other." Three friends and I went to this "black church" and we had a great time. We were welcomed in with open arms and hugs from everyone.

I am, of course, still writing my paper on Chaucer. I am thankful that this paper is just focusin on his use of sex and seduction. The paper that I will have to write for Dr. Tebbetts' Advanced Comp class will have to explore Chaucer himself and why he used sex so much.

I am going to have to get the paper done, though. I am supposed to go haul hay at 2:30 and that is only about 35 minutes away from now.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday and week.

Later.

Thursday, September 25, 2008

Day 2

I know that there was a day in between Day 1 and Day 2.

I am at work.

I did my first observation today. I went to Cave City Middle School and observed 7th Grade Language Arts and 8th Grade Social Studies. My mentor teacher is just plain awesome.

I am actually pretty much caught up with homework. I wrote a paper on "Mr. Flood's Party" this morning. It was an interesting poem. I can't recall the poets name at this moment however. I read a Robert Frost poem yesterday and made my outline to write that paper.

I need to work on a paper over The Cantebury Tales by Chaucer. I have a round table meeting over it tomorrow and the final draft is due on Monday. Yikes. Deadlines are looming closer.

I need to be working on my next memoir but I have no idea what I am going to write about.

Hope everyone is great.

Later.

Day 1

Today is my first day to write on my blog. I am actually at work as I write this. I work for a Youth Ranch as a tutor. I love my job. I also work at Charlie's Men's Wear. I am a Junior at Lyon College. My major is English and I am concentrating on Middle Level Education. I am a Christian. I attend Swifton First Assembly of God. I am a HOLY-ROLLER, and I love it. I try to embrace God in every aspect of my life. This blog will be used to talk to myself and anyone that decides to read. I will talk about school and work. I will talk about family, friends and my beliefs. I will probably talk about my horses a lot. I live on a farm and it is great. Nothing is off-limits. If someone takes over my body, I may even talk about politics, which I know nothing about. I hope everyone has a great day. God Bless.
